VARC Jenny Purrett

Jenny Purrett was VARC's Artist in Residence for the year 2010 - 2011. Yet again, the approach to her end of residency publication felt very different to that of previous artists Jilly Morris and Imi Maufe, both of whom we had the pleasure of working with on their catalogues.

Jenny's output ranged from exquisite pencil drawings, to sculptural forms made from hand-sheared and found wool, to mark making using a shotgun and gunpowder. The publication is comprised of detailed installation views and still shots of durational pieces, offset by short diary extracts and observations which cumulatively begin to make sense of the landscape the artist was living and working within.
